İstek  Uluğbey attended the 5th Annual MUN Conference held at Robert College from 5th to 9th April 2011.

This was a great honour for us to be part of such an esteemed event held on an amazing campus. The Uluğbey delegates consisted of Kaan Çorbacıoğlu selected of  Ambassador of Paraguay who made the opening speech. Işıl Çağla Morsümbül (selected ambassador of Barbados) also made several speeches.

The countries assigned to us were Barbados and Paraguay, not exactly easy to research. However, we managed to co-sign resolutions and debated on issues ranging from human rights to disarmament. Getting the Bostancı seabus port at 7.30 am was a joy as we couldn’t wait to attend the plenary sessions each morning. All in all, this was an amazing experience and we have unanimously decided to take part in all forthcoming MUN sessions both here in İstanbul and abroad.

Hello again :)

Now  we are  at the end  of  a  very big event   …. ….. Our İstek Schools  International ELT Conference  has been successfully finished  and  we  are  about  to close our schools  for a short spring break …..before  saying  ’ HAPPY SPRING BREAK’  to everyone  I would like to take an opportunity   to thank all my staff  especially İnci  Yazıcı   for her   workshop  performance during the conference ….It was so much fun. Participants have left the workshop with a bag of simple drama activities that could easily be used in their classrooms …..

So long for   present ……. Happy Spring Break !!!

SPELLING BEE IS A WELL-KNOWN ACTIVITY IN ESL CLASSES. WE PLAYED A BIT CHALLENGING VERSION WITH OUR GRADE 4 STUDENTS IN THE CONFERENCE HALL.  WE CAN EASILY SAY THE ACTIVITY WAS BOTH CHALLENGING AND FUN FOR EVERYONE..

THE GRADE 6 STUDENTS PLAYED ” THE SCHOOL SCAVENGER HUNT”. THEY WERE ASKED SOME QUESTIONS AND THEN THEY HAD TO GET TICKETS FROM CERTAIN POINTS IN THE SCHOOL CORRIDORS. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN TO WATCH THEM RUNNING IN A HURRY TO GET TO THE ASSEMBLY POINT FIRST..

THE BIGGEST PRIZE WAS GUARANTEED FUN AND A BEHAVIOUR AWARD CARD..
