Mr Geerts - Teacher of 5B

Hi everybody!

I’m one of the foreign English teachers.

It is already my third year at the Istek Foundation, and I’m currently teaching the wonderful kids of 4A, 4B, 4C, 5B, 6B and 7B at Istek Kaşgarlı Mahmut. I was born in Antwerp, and moved to Turkey almost five years ago. I currently live in Beylikdüzü, together with my wife Derya and our son Pamir.

I love to spend time with my family. My hobbies are tennis, swimming, fitness, Formula 1, and blogging.

I know football is very popular in Turkey, but unfortunately my favorite team is not a Turkish team: I support Barcelona ;-)

Hello everybody! I’m an English teacher at Istek Kasgarlı Mahmut Primary School and I love spending time with my students. I teach kids starting from 4th grade, up to 7th grade this year and they are mainly my old students.

I was born and raised in Istanbul and I love to be a part of this exciting city.  I’ve been living in Levent for more than 28 years now.

When I have some free time I love watching DVDs, going to the cinema, spending time with my 9 year old son, Emir and our lovely dog, Aşkın. I’m fond of animals and nature and I think we should protect them as much as we can.

I hope you’ll be blogging from now on and become a part of it. ENJOY!!!   :-O

Hello everybody!

I’m teaching English at the İstek Kaşgarlı Mahmut Primary School. I like kids and languages so I have fun while teaching and I also learn alot from my students. Before I started to work as a teacher I had worked as a stewardess for THY for a long time so I like flying, visiting foreign countries and learning about other cultures.

I’m married, I’ve got a son, a daughter and a dog, called Bozo. I love spending time with my family. We usually go for long walks or swim. I also like listening to music, and going to the cinema .

I hope we will all have fun here blogging!

Howdy y’all!
I recently joined the ISTEK Kasgarlı Mahmut crew and currently teach grades 3, 5, 6, & 7. I have taught at other schools (elementary through high school) prior Istek, and I look forward to a fantastic academic year and career at Kasgarlı Mahmut.
Originally born and somewhat raised San Pedro, California, I grew up on the USA’s west coast (California, Oregon and Washington states). I have always enjoyed traveling and have been worked and lived abroad for over four years in countries including Latvia, Sweden, South Korea, Costa Rica, and Turkey.
My occupational background is varied compared to many educators, previously working in technical support, entertainment management, web marketing, copywriting, and hotel management. I began teaching nearly four years ago and absolutely love it.
When I’m not at school or preparing materials, I enjoy studying archaeology and history, listening to music (pretty much anything), researching on Wikipedia(.com), communicating with international friends, traveling, and watching The Simpsons, documentaries, and independent movie dramas.
I hope my passion for personal expression can encourage you to blog occasionally to regularly. I look forward to ‘reading’ from you soon.
