Hello there!

We all like reading thriller stories, don’t we? So why don’t we write a story of our own? Well, we have started a story for you. Now it’s your turn to add your ideas to make it more and more exciting. The only thing you need is IMAGINATION…

So, here is your task: Read the story below. There is a question at the end. You are going to answer the question using your imagination. Your creative answer will be a part of our story and it will also effect the rest of it. Write your answer as a comment to this post.

 Let’s get started!

NIGHT_SNOWIt was a cold snowy night. Sam was sleeping in his warm bed. Suddenly he opened his eyes. He was awake in the middle of the night. It was so dark and silent in the room. “I hate being alone in dark” he thought. He never liked the darkness but he knew that it was useless to tremble in bed. “I should be brave,” he said, “There is nothing to be afraid of…”

He reached for the night lamp next to his bed, but it wasn’t there! He stood up and started to walk slowly towards the window. He was scared. He went near the window.

When he looked outside, he couldn’t believe his eyes. The street was totally different. The houses, trees, even the street signs were different.

He was in a different place…

He turned and looked at the bedroom more carefully this time. The bed was bigger. The wardrobe was in the wrong place and there was a torch on the night stand. He quickly took the torch and turned it on to see around more clearly.

No, it can’t be his bedroom.

He was sure that he was in a different place. “But how did I come here?” he asked to himself. “I was in my own bedroom last night!” He didn’t undrestand what was happening.

Then he found a small note on the night stand…

What did the note say??

So, now that you have all had a bit of a break, it’s time that we get back to work. Tell us how your break went. Did you have fun? Did you go anywhere? Did you meet any new or interesting people?

What is significant about how the animals arrange themselves as they gather to hear Major? What might this arrangement
say about future meetings or events

Most teenagers are having problems with their families. I used to have problems with them, too. For example, Dad never let me stay at my friend’s home. Mum always told me to tidy my room. I even couldn’t listen to loud music.Sometimes we had arguments. What about you? Are you having problems with them, too? If yes, let’s talk about them and find out!

yildiz-23PORTFOLIPRESENTATIONS

We know that you have chosen exciting topics for your portfolio presentations.

What have you done so far??

Have you started preparing your  spectacular powerpoint shows?

If your answer is “No, not yet..” to that question, then it’s high time to get started!! We are all looking forward to seeing our stars on stage :)

Here are the steps to an outstanding presentation: blog_powerpoint1

  • Do a detailed research.
  • Find interesting pictures related to your topic and put them into powerpoint.
  • Add a video, if possible. (It will make a difference for sure.)
  • Prepare a speech with your own words .
  • Save your draft on a rewritable CD and give it up to your teacher so that s/he could do the necessary corrections.
  • Last step: Start memorizing…
  • Remember: There shouldn’t be any writings on your powepoint slides. Put as many pictures as you can to make it colourful and interesting. It’s  a good idea to practise with a choronometer, because your presentation shouldn’t take more than four (4) minutes.
Final message: Don’t get nervous. We are going to do many rehearsals before you go on the stage. Plus, you are all brilliant and we are sure that you will shine like a star! :)

sphereCheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right!

New Year’s Eve has always been a time for looking back to the past, and more importantly, forward to the coming year.

A New Year’s Resolution is a promise to yourself to improve your life in some way. You can improve your life by starting something new, by trying harder at something, by cutting down on something, or even quitting something. OR we can just keep doing what we are doing now.

It’s time to reflect on the changes we want to make and resolve to follow  through on those changes.

So think about what you want to change in your life in 2011, what you did wrong or right in 2010, what your new hopes for the next year are. Share your thoughts with us!

Write your new year’s resolutions in a short paragraph of  at least  five (5)  sentences and leave it as a comment.

Here are some examples for you…

I’m thinking of saving some money.

I’m planning to try harder in English.

I’m going to cut down on surfing the internet

I’ve decided to quit eating junk food

I’m planning to keep helping my mom.

I’ll give more effort in watching movies without subtitles.
